Little Ruben and his family are from Gorkha, which lies in the central part of Nepal. Ruben is an only child and his dad works as a farmer.
When 2-year-old Ruben had a fever and blue bruise patches on his body, his parents took him to a hospital in Bharatpur where they checked his blood. The doctors suspected cancer so his parents were referred to B.P Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital where they did a bone marrow test for the first time and discovered low blood counts but not cancer.
So Ruben’s parents brought him to a hospital in Kathmandu for treatment where they did his bone marrow test twice. This time Ruben was diagnosed with blood cancer.
When his first active treatment started Ruben stopped eating and felt nauseated. Now Ruben is continuing with his active treatment.
Ruben is staying in our Leo’s Kid K-Flats with his mom. Ruben loves all kinds of toy cars and enjoys playing with balls.
