Ashmita blood counts delay cancer treatment

10-year-old Ashmita is struggling with low blood counts. Due to unstable blood counts she was admitted to the hospital for more than a week.

Sweet Ashmita was discharged from the hospital a couple weeks ago. Ashmita had a fever and has a hard time eating food these days. She has lost some weight and her active treatments for a type of blood cancer are on hold.

Ashmita first came to us as our 87th Leo’s Kid and has been staying with us in our Leo’s Kids P-Flats for the past 146 days since April 9, 2022. Ashmita’s father and aunt take good care of her.

Ashmita likes to draw houses, trees and Nepal’s flag but due to fatigue and weakness she is on bed rest.
