We had the pleasure of visiting our 124th Leo’s Kid, Aruna Nepali, now 13 years old, in her hometown of Nawalparasi.
We met her wonderful family, including her two brothers, one older and one younger, and her supportive parents. They run a small tea shop, which is their main source of income.
Aruna was referred to Patan Hospital to see Dr. Sucharita. During her treatment, she spent 11 days in the ICU. She bravely underwent cancer treatment, including 28 days of radiation, and eventually completed her active treatment 5 months ago. Throughout this challenging period, she stayed with her mother and father at Leo’s Kids P-Flats.
Aruna is currently studying in the 7th grade in her hometown. She is a reserved and introverted girl who loves spending time with her two brothers. She shared with us that she has experienced significant yet improving hearing loss due to treatment.
