Special friends visit Arlene Miskelly Memorial Flats
We had a great time yesterday with the Leo’s Kids and parents at Arlene Miskelly Memorial Flats in Bhaktapur. I got to try out my broken Nepalese to the amusement of one of our smallest Leo’s Kids, Romina.
The parents and I had an emotional discussion about the struggles they face, but the overwhelming gratitude they feel toward all of our Team Leo’s Kids around the world who work together to bring these families help and hope while they support their children through their cancer journey.
The afternoon was spent enjoying coloring books, building blocks and other toys for Leo’s Kids from our friend Sumana jee, who does cancer research in the UK, and from her parents and grandparents. They even donated funds so we could buy a tricycle for the flat and will get another for K-Flats as well. The kids were having a great time building with the blocks side-by-side.
Our daughter Annika enjoyed going with Leo’s Kid Jenisha to bring the new tricycle back to the Flats.
Thank you to all the families at Arlene Miskelly Memorial Flats for making us feel so welcome and for sharing your journey with us.
